I read with interest the attempt by Street Church Spokeman - Caleb Corneloup - to just about sue everyone around him for defamation of his character... what a load of crap..
The messages the group spread really are HATE MESSAGES ... at least in todays modern society, Most people of today who are intelligent would agree with me, and dare I say, Anne Moran from the Adelaide City Council does too. I haven't had many a good word to say about Anne Moran in the past, but in this instance, good on her for sticking it upfor the average person.
As far as I'm aware, to commit ''defamation'' a persons character has to be personally damaging in respect to future job prospects or career prospects. If you simply get the shits up, but it doesn't damage you professionally or careerwise (if you could call Caleb Corneloup having a career), there would be no case to answer ? Tell me if I'm wrong please?
As far as I can see from this story, Anne Moran has attacked the ''message'', not the individual. And as such, TOUGH LUCK.
I'm personally sick of these preachers filling our streets with hate messages. The sooner we get rid of them, the better. I'm all for free speech (just as I'm doing here), however, it doesn't give you the right to stuff it down peoples throats. We should have a choice as to whether we want to listen to it or not. A shopping precinct, being Rundle Mall, is not the place. Go and finds some olf shed somewhere and preach away. Those that want to listen, will come, those that don't, will stay away.
Caleb Corneloup and your sheep followers, your messages of hate are plain bullshit. You should be ashamed of your actions. People like you love peddling hate messages. We, the decent people of Adelaide are sick of you. Just go away and fade off into the distance (like your group will eventually do anyway as your sheep followers come to their senses). Go on - sue me. I've said nothing personally damaging about you, and neither has Anne Moran. Your court case(s) will fail, so tough luck. Thats what the people of Adelaide think about you and your hate. We are allowed to say our messages as well. You may not lick them, but freedom of speech hey pal!

DeleteAhhh .. so he's right .. you were sitting around home Googling your name to see how popular you are .. sheesh. You are still wrong. There are a few things you're not considering: A) MOST 'right minded' people would agree with Anne Moran and would disagree with you and your churches views. B) Anne Moran made comments about your message, not about you personally. If you take that as being personal, then tough luck for you. You may need to grow thicker skin - if you're going to give shit, you need to be able to take shit. C) It's a well recognised (and reported) fact that churches of all demoninations are losing followers left, right and centre. This is happening because people are so disillusioned with the mainstream churches beliefs (gay unions etc) and old fashioned thinking. The thinking and message of your church is out of the 1950's and therefore is not progressing with societys modern thinking. Your church is putting themselves in the position that you are all homophobic in your views. This is why you will not succeed in court action for defamation. If anything, I reckon you are leaving yourselves open to VILIFICATION charges.

i don't expect that you will take any notice of my comment and I don't really care.
In addition, if the "defamation" explanation in your comment was actually real, there would be 1000's of people everyday taking defamation action in courts.
You have to get off your high horse and think before you start making threatening comments about defamation and so on. What lawyers have you engaged to peruse the public comments to see if you actually have a case?

Caleb Corneloup, I think you have to face the facts that your and your church views are not welcomed in Adelaide (or probably any other city for that matter). 85.12% of readers who responded to the poll consider your cause to be one of harassment. 6.48% agreed that your message needs to be heard. In simple terms, people do not believe your message is one worth considering, and in fact, people consider you and your church as harassers. Not very good for a church hey?
These are actual figures, they are not made up. In my opinion, you will still take the 'righteous' view that what you are doing is well, right. Adolf Hitler took that view as well.
So now, are you going to turn around and tell all of that 85.12% that they are wrong? Maybe the general public needs to take a stand against people like you and your church that spread hate, rather than tolerance and acceptance. You and your like will eventually fade away and won't be heard of again.
This Caleb Corneloup bloke is a hate filled messenger. He definitely is not serving God, that's for sure. And, on top of it, he has double standards as well. He takes out a private prosecution against a police officer for interrupting one of his 'services' (and that's a joke in itself), and yet, he and his motley lot, go and disrupt a service at the Paradise Community Church. How do you explain that Corneloup? You may have won a pissy battle in the court to spread your hate filled messages on the street, but, let's face it, no one wants to listen to you. Just go away. When the police officers court case goes back to court in February, I'll definitely make sure Jayne Basheer (the police officers Lawyer) knows about your court case for disruption to Paradise Community Church. Your case will be thrown out for sure. No-one wants to hear your message Corneloup. The figures speak for themselves. Just go away. I don't know why people are even bothering to comment on you and your motley hate filled church..
