Tristan Barker - The so called Internet troll - A mindless wanker?

I read about the antics of Tristan Barker, the internet troll who has a tendency to cause trouble and chaos through his Facebook page and generally just cause hassles wherever he appears on the internet.

Why do we bother to give this childish dickhead, and bogan, the opportunity to further vent his useless ranting and stupidity with news stories. He would no doubt be loving all the attention he's getting from the infamous persona he's made for himself.

Why do we bother ?? You only have to look at the father to see it seems to run in the family. The parents would have to be ashamed to have a son like this? Surely?

Its very probable that this bloke is unemployed and doesn't have a cent to his name and now that he's getting all the attention he wants and deserves - for the wrong reasons - he's unlikely to get a job anyway. I certainly wouldn't employ this childish twit. And, if I were his father, I'd be damned ashamed to have a son like this. It is of course possible that Tristan Barker has an intellectual or mental disability, and if this is the case, maybe he should receive treatment, and we should not try to judge him too much.

Either way, he must stand responsible for his stupid and senseless acts, and I'm sure sometime in his future - when he decides he wants to do something useful and constructive with his life - the past will come back to haunt him. He may realise then just how much of an immature dickhead he's been.

And too his fans, well, in reality, they are not much better. It's just so much fun to be radical and support a mindless childish immature idiot. And to think some of these 'fans' are going to go on and maybe become important people in government .. damn it's scary hey that we could be potentially governed by mindless fools that'll support a dickhead.

Tristan Barker. In summing up - just grow up and start acting like a person of your age instead of an 11 year old. One day you'll come a cropper and you'll take on someone you can't handle and you'll regret it. Someone will get you and then you'll start screaming that it was 'all just in fun', but no -ones listening.

Police bashing people at the Sydney Gay Mardi Gras

It's disgusting to imagine people being bashed by police at Sydney's Gay Mardi Gras celebrations. To the police involved in the bashings, you deserved to be sacked'.

It's quite well known anecdotally around the community that the police often protect themselves, by lying about incidents so as to make them look like they are doing the right thing. If this is the case in the Mardi Gras incident, why did one of the police officers involved in the bashing order a member of public to stop recording on his mobile phone? What was he afraid of? Did he suddenly realise that his disgusting act of abuse was being recorded to be used against him in court?

I'm glad the person recording the incident refused to listen to police as I'm sure the video will receive the airplay it should. In addition, what right do police have to order members of the public to not record or video something? unless they're afraid of their cowardly act being shown around the world for all to see. Another abuse of so called power by police.

I urge anyone to film any acts of violence or unfair treatment by police at any time. Even if you are being pulled over in your car for some reason. You have a right to record the incident and the police have no right to order you to stop recording. At the end of the day, police hate it when members of the public stand up for their rights. They just want people to play into their hands. Bullshit hey.

Anyone who has seen this film of the young blokes scuffle with police can see he is only slightly built. There is absolutely no excuse whatsoever to have thrown him on the ground.

Shame on the Australian Coca Cola subsidiary for arguing in the Northern Territory court to have the 10 cents deposit removed from plastic container refunds. This is nothing but a self interested company looking totally after itself and not thinking about the environment. Disgusting.

Some Adelaide Councils commend two week rubbish collection cycle

I read with a bit if disdain that a number of local councils are looking at the idea of collecting rubbish on a fortnightly basis instead of weekly.

Apparently, the impetus is that people are using the general waste bin less and certain councils think it's fair to reduce collection because of this. Naturally, the councils also agree that rates won't decrease because of the move ... now why aren't we surprised at that result ??? Surely, the cost saving to council would be quite significant, so why not pass on that saving?

My concern is that councils are becoming less and less accountable to their householders. They want to increase rates but not give any extra benefits, or alternatively, reduce services, but not reduce rates. They want it all their way.

I have just sent an email to my local council (Port Adelaide Enfield) venting my views on this issue. A real concern is that councils will jump on the bandwagon with this as a cost saving measure, but if rates are not decreased, what benefit do we ratepayers get out of it ? Nothing .. except reduced services. Duh .. and we already suffer from reduced services anyway.

The next council to be looked at is the City of Salisbury Council. Their council area is a damn mess, streets littered with rubbish, overgrown weeds and what appears to be a general lack of pride by the council. Anyway.. that is another story.

Apart from the issue with council, do we really want stinking bins in the heat of summer sitting around for two weeks? Do we want people to let their bins overflow and rubbish to start blowing around the street? I know there are householders that wouldn't let this happen, but in saying that, there are also householders, who couldn't give a stuff ... "Bugger it, if council doesn't collect my bin, then excess waste will fall out .. what do I care"? Is this what we want ?

In my rant about the Tea Tree Gully council, I urged all householders to get onto their councils backs and start requesting more streetscape related issues - mowing verges more often, cleaning up rubbish, removal of dead trees, and the replanting of new trees in streets. In other words - the council should start taking more pride in its streetscape. If you have nice clean streets, the householders are more likely to have nice clean front gardens. Is that not good for all of us? streets that we can be proud of?

Again, I urge householders to email, write and phone their councils and let it be known that we're not happy about the possibility of rubbish collection being reduced. And, remember to get on your councils back about overgrown verges, rubbish in streets etc. We need to make councils accountable again ... back to grass roots care of their council area. We can only benefit.
