12 year old kid puts cop into his place (American cop of course - Aussie cops would never be this pigheaded - yeah right!)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8zr3RdppwI0

A reader posted this clip address in response to my post about Peter Richards and his wrongdoing by the South Australian Police Department.

This kid needs a medal to have the balls to take on a cop doing the wrong thing. Please Note: In most states of the USA, a police officer is required to give his badge number when asked by a member of the public. This kid asks several times only to be brushed off by the cop each time.

Should Supreme Court Judge Anne Bampton be removed from the Bench ?

Most news readers would be aware of newly appointed Supreme Court Judge - Anne Bampton - and her recent drink driving charge, and her alleged hitting of a cyclist whilst driving home under the influence of alcohol.

To be honest, and it pains me to say it, but I think she should stand down from the bench. I know Anne Bampton has been touted as a sincere and loyal judge over the years, but the hard facts remain as they are.

After all, District Court Judge, Mark Griffin was hounded because of allegations he had used the services of prostitutes. He felt it necessary to resign his relatively short position, and I think Anne Bampton should take a page from his book.

Di Gilchrist, the widow of hit run victim, Ian Humphreys, has weighed in on the turmoil and called for Anne Bampton to resign. Many of you would remember Eugene McGee, a lawyer, hit and killed Ian Humphries around 10 years ago, and suffered very little punishment except to receive a $3000 fine and loss of drivers licence for a period. In many peoples eyes, this disgusting farce ruined what was called the SA Justice System and showed you just how much these circles look after themselves. Will this happen again with Anne Bampton?

What is more disturbing with the Anne Bampton case is that a number in the legal profession announce quite airily that the cyclist hit by Anne Bampton, was only hurt slightly. Well so what ? If it was me (or you), we'd have the book thrown at us. "Another disgusting case of drink driving and an innocent member of the public being hurt"! I don't see that being said of Ms Bampton. All I hear is how the cyclist was hardly hurt at all. That shouldn't matter - in fact, we should be thankful that is the case.

ASnother point of significance, is the Anne Bampton if a Supreme Court Judge, and during her wayward journey through the legal system, should have seen many of these cases. She should have known better than to attempt to drive. The police keep telling us that at .06 and greater, our judgement is already quite impaired. So Ms Bampton at 0.121 must have been blotto. There is no way for her to have not known she was drunk.

If Ms Bampton is allowed to get away with this and only suffer a relatively minor punishment, it would once again make a farce of the SA Legal System. As Di Gilchrist says, "It appears one law for the legal fraternity, and another for the average person". If Mark Griffin was hounded because he used the services of dubious but socially accepted sex services, then Ms Bampton definitely has to go. An officer of the court has to be held to a higher responsibility than just the ordinary person. It's sad,  but true. It's no different than a person who relies on driving for a living - eg, a delivery or taxi driver - and they get picked up for drink driving. You have no sympathy for them because they know what it would mean to not have a license. And lets face it, on the salary that Ms Bampton would be on, she would certainly have no problems affording to catch a taxi, which makes a fine of $1500 and/or catching a taxi to and from work everyday, no real punishment. A bit of embarrassment is really all she'll suffer.

Sorry Ms Bampton, but for the sake of the legal profession, it's time to step down and resign. Most South Australians want it, and to not do it, is to once again bring the legal system into disrepute. The public has had enough of this 'boys club' type attitude.

What a scumbag. Why should the state waste money housing and protecting this arsehole for years and years?

When will we introduce capital punishment for cases such as this?

Peter Richards fights his mobile phone fine and wins!! Citizens who have been wronged need to stand up for their rights!

Senior Constable Diana Rautley pulled over Mr Richards in his car last November at Warradale in Adelaide, and accused him of using his mobile phone whilst driving..

Peter Richards denied using his phone and advised he had actually left it at home so he didn't have it as a distraction whilst driving. The Senior Constable didn't believe him.

Mr Richards even offered to let her search his person and car so she could see that he didn't have a mobile. Raultey said that wasn't necessary because she actually SAW him using the phone.

Well, it turns out that Rautley was WRONG. She THOUGHT she saw him using his mobile, but was WRONG.

I'm not aware if Mr. Richards accessed his mobile phone records to see if times tallied up (or in this case, didn't tally up) with the time Rautley accused him of wrong doing.

My point is anyone can make a mistake, and Diana Rautley definitely made a mistake that day. Surely bells should have rung when Richards asked her to inspect his vehicle. He couldn't have hidden a mobile that fast and securely, that she wouldn't have found it.

In my opinion, Rautley failed in her duty to properly assess the situation. You can't just go around higgeldy piggeldy accusing people of doing something. And if I was a police officer, and was offered the opportunity to search the car, would have done so. If she had done her job properly, Mr. Richards wouldn't have had to go through all the crap that he's had to.

It goes to show that if you feel you've been wronged by a police officer, fight it. You might find that they aren't all so high and mighty when faced with having to prove their case.

Update 29/11/2013

I saw these few paragraphs on the AdelaideNow website and thought I'd share with you:

SA Police yesterday responded to The Advertiser's inquiries about the case, saying Mr Cannon did not find officers had "acted improperly".
"As in all matters, SAPOL proceeded with this case based on the fact there was a reasonable prospect of conviction," a spokeswoman said.
The Advertiser asked police what level of proof was required to prove such an offence and whether the officer involved had been counselled or retrained.
"Police are able to ask a driver to produce their mobile phone, what kind of mobile phone they have and who they were talking to. The driver's mobile phone number can also be taken," the spokeswoman said.
----------------------------

What I find rather damning for SAPOL is the comment I've highlighted in blue. To me, this suggests that SAPOL will take action against a citizen, even if that citizen is truly not guilty of the accusation, however, if there is a reasonable prospect of conviction. Bugger it .. lets go for it!!

Is it just me or do people find this rather amazing? I thought the police had to find out the TRUTH behind a matter before exploring the options of fining or charging a person?

Nowhere in the story do police state that they tried to ascertain the TRUTH in the matter. In fact, it was Peter Richards who tried to establish the truth. But Senior Constable Diana Rautley wouldn't have a bar of it. Duh, and they try and say that the Rautley acted properly? If she had acted properly and actually wanted the TRUTH, she would have searched his car, but then a lack of mobile phone would mean she was WRONG in her ASSUMPTION of GUILT. What it boils down to is that if Senior Constable Diana Rautley had done her job properly, Peter Richards would never had to go to court in the first place.

The first thing SAPOL should do is apologise to Peter Richards.

Well, there you have it citizens, SAPOL will take action against you - even if you're not guilty - but there is a good chance of a conviction.

The death of Lewis McPherson, and the agonising witness accounts of his mates, James Lamont and Liam Trewartha. - EXPOSE THIS TEENAGE SCUMBAG

Being reported in the news lately has been the witness accounts of two of Lewis McPherson's mates - James Lamont and Liam Trewartha.

We have the death of poor Lewis whilst the SCUMBAG who killed him stays hidden by the law. It's times like this that the law totally sucks. Let's expose this bastard for who he really is.

Why do we continually protect these arseholes when they're under 18. They don't in America and in many other countries in the world. And to be honest, when this prick gets out of jail, who gives a stuff about him. I don't. And lets face it, he's going to come out of jail a much worse person than what he went in. Sad, I know, but we all know that rehabilitation in Australian jails is a joke.

Read it from a prisoners view:

http://www.adelaidenow.com.au/news/south-australia/inmates-reveal-why-south-australian-prison-isnt-working/story-fni6uo1m-1226718941574#

And yes, you guessed it, our so called legal justice system will give him some pithy sentence which you'd give a ten year old. I don't hold much confidence it in any more.

Do we give this scumbag the excuse of being outrageously drunk and off his face on drugs, or so he claims, having just had a fight with his best mate? No, of course not. Tough luck. This is why we need capital punishment back in Australia. Why should my taxes go in looking after this prick? I'm sick of bogans and scumbags in our society and I'm not putting up with excuses about their poor upbringing, blah blah blah. They know right from wrong. Kids know that at 5 and 6 years old.

You can probably work out by my tone that I'm pretty hot about this, and pissed off.One young mans life taken away from him by a self centred drunk and drug taker.

What happened to the 'attendees' of this drug party? Where has there been charges laid in relation to that?

W're not obviously going to get capital punishment any time soon, so I want this underage prick charged as an adult, and thrown into jail for at least 20-25 years. It's only fair he loses a good portion of his life for taking the entire portion of someone else's life.

You watch all the namby pamby cuddly do gooders come out of the woodwork now "Oh, the poor boy, he was seized by the drugs and alcohol and it transformed him into a beast". Well tough luck.

If this arsehole gets off on measly manslaughter charges after committing his disgusting crime, it basically gives all like arseholes an excuse to get blindly drunk and commit their crime. Great.. kill your partner or friend and don't get charged with pre-meditated murder because you're off your face on alcohol. Much better to spend 6 years in jail for manslaughter rather than 20 years in jail for murder.

Cassandra Anne McKechnie, 20, James Cameron Dix, 22, and Damien Rochester, 22 - Adelaide Thugs

Cassandra McKechnie should be damned ashamed of herself. This thug was the catalyst that started a fight on a bus between her two drunken thug mates, James Dix & Damien Rochester and a group of innocent older men on the city bound bus.

I hope these dickheads get the maximum penalty and be thrown in jail for years. They won't of course because our criminal system is full of wusses, but they have got to pay the price for their thuggery.

I'm sick to death of this bogan uneducated culture that's developing in our younger people. They no longer have any pride in what they wear. They can't spell for peanuts. They have crap grammar, and to top it off, many employers don't want them because of their crap work ethic (I used to work with two younger blokes in late teens, early twenties. They were too lazy to get up earlier in the morning to shower!). OK, I know this is very generalised as there are a good percentage out there that do the right thing, and don't fall into this category. But I digress.

The woman that started it all, Cassandra McKechnie

Either way, justice has to be done and I only see jail as the right punishment. A 12 month stint should be enough to teach these thugs a lesson or two. It's a pity we can't go back to public shaming and have them on display in Victoria Square receiving a hundred lashes, then thrown in jail. Maybe a choice - 200 lashes with a whip, or 6 months jail - let the thug choose.

Damien Rochester

The other part is now three young people will have criminal records that will not allow them to work in the public service, (enter America on holidays) or work with the elderly or children. All jobs where you must have no criminal record. Hhmmm, maybe they should have thought how a criminal record is going to affect their futures.

Update 25/1/2014

Damien Rochester, (see picture above) gets off with a pissy SUSPENDED SENTENCE. The judge should hang their head in shame! Just disgusting.

After the sentencing, Rochester posted on his Facebook page: "I GOT A SUSPENDED SENTENCE!! I had an angel watching over my back big time, and I will never be dealt another hand like this again. No more. I'M FREEEEEEEE. THANK YOU GOD."

Notice there is not a word of regret or even saying sorry to his victim .. OK, I'm only looking at this post, but I reckon I'd be right anyway.

No Rochester ... you didn't have an angel watching you ... the judge made the wrong decision! It's that simple.

And what's more, I'll bet you anything that within the next few years, you'll be back in front of a judge again!

Minister Chloe Fox and THOSE paintings on loan from The Art Gallery of South Australia

Chloe, just grow up and get a little more thick skinned. You've been embarrassed because you have deprived Adelaide people of it's artwork to decorate your office. No, the article didn't imply you stole it or misappropriated it, it simply had a jab at you (and the Premier) for having the paintings on your walls. If you want artwork, buy your own and hang them. Don't use public property that should be on show, for your own singular enjoyment!

If you don't like the jabs of public life, maybe it's about time you left politics.

There are a lot more pressing problems with Adelaide's transport system to be thinking about than mucking around with a cartoonists jokes.

Politicians have had a lot worse thrown at them than this petty trifle of yours. A storm in a teacup.

Are some Adelaide suburbs a Third World living environment? pointing fingers at DTEI, Salisbury, Tea Tree Gully, Charles Sturt, Onkaparinga, Playford, Marion and Port Adelaide Enfield Councils to name a few!

Recently I had a visit from longtime interstate friends who had come to Adelaide to look around and visit the various sights and sample the wonderful wines & food culture of South Australia.

We drove to the Barossa Valley deciding to use Main North Road through the northern suburbs of Adelaide as our visitors wanted to see a little more of the suburbs and surrounding development.

What we encountered, however, was nothing more than a total disgrace and a huge embarrassment not only for me, but all Adelaide people. We were dumbfounded and left speechless at the disgusting state of roads, footpaths, median strips and so-called ‘natural green belts’.

If a natural bushland setting is what is trying to be achieved by Local Councils & the Department of Transport, Energy & Infrastructure "DTEI", then it has failed miserably.  Bushland is not over-run with domestic garden weeds, plants and massive amounts of household rubbish strewn threw long grass and blowing about in the breeze.

Graffiti is rife! I’m not talking ‘street art’ here. I’m talking about tags, scrawls and defacing of any surface possible from senseless small-minded uneducated individuals who have nothing better to do. You can sort of understand graffiti from the above described persons, but when you have adults throwing household rubbish onto verges, it really stinks. I'm not talking about the odd cardboard box or two, but old fridges, TV's etc.

Maybe Main North Road from Gepps Cross to Gawler is going to be upgraded and cleaned up – who knows? But in the meantime, do we need to suffer this pathetic embarrassment. And why the sheep fencing dividing the dual carriageway? I know why it is there, but why “sheep fencing” in this modern time? Surely that can be replaced with high-tensile low height wiring. We live in a City, not on Old MacDonald’s Farm! This same sheep fencing is used along most of the railway lines in the suburbs. Look at the Grange Line on West Lakes Boulevard in Adelaide's West as an example. Surely a more attractive fencing option is worth considering and installing. Adelaide Metro should clean up their land as per their own Environmental Policy as stated on their website (which they constantly breach). Or maybe this Department just consider us to be sheep!? Just go with the flow, put up with the shocking railway conditions and  follow each others ass. But I digress….

After this "memorable" encounter en-route to the Barossa Valley, I decided to take a more detailed look around various suburbs all over Adelaide to see if the same pathetic attempt at maintenance is being undertaken by Councils and the DTEI.

One such suburb stood out as a very good example - Mansfield Park. And before any reader cringes, I suggest you visit this suburb. (And for the record I do not live in this area).  It is changing dramatically with many new dwellings being constructed. And the dwellings that are there are being looked after by the residents much better than ever before. They have a sense of pride. However, what lets them down is the street maintenance. It is woeful!! If you were to stand in any street in this suburb and visualise the street being cleaned and maintained at a high PROFESSIONAL standard by Council contractors (as it should be!!) you would find that the residents are not the reason as to why this, and many, many other suburbs look so bad. Yes, there will always be those individuals who dump rubbish etc on the verges – however these are few and only need to be educated by the relevant authorities. At present, Council do nothing to help the situation. Posting signs on stobie poles fifteen years ago – ‘Illegal dumping. We’re out to get you’ - does not and has not worked!

Local Councils are receiving more revenue than ever before, mainly from rates payments from higher and higher density living, and yet we are seeing less and less being done on a daily basis in our streets, parks & roadways. Where is the money going? I think we all have a fair idea. And we definitely know it’s not being spent in our street and road maintenance programs.

However two exceptions I have discovered myself relate to the Anti-graffiti programs (usually voluntary) being run through some local Councils. Charles Sturt Council and  the Port Adelaide Enfield Council do a brilliant job with their Volunteer Teams. There are bound to be more Teams like this and they are very, very good. I urge residents to seek them out.  However, unfortunately, some Council’s such as Walkerville Council (the most expensive council area in the  State!!!!) have absolutely nothing to offer. Ironic considering the amount of revenue they attract from their rate payers. This is totally unacceptable. This Council needs to clean up the area and introduce a worthwhile program for its residents, rate-payers and visitors alike!

Why aren't Councils allocating resources to these maintenance areas in line with demand? Time and time again I have been told by my local Council that ….”because of the recent rains, we have experienced high growth rates in weeds and grass” I am told this EVERY SINGLE year…. who would have thought that the winter rains we get, EVERY winter (even in drought), would make grass and weeds grow????!!!  And yet time and resources are NEVER pre-empted in readiness to keep the verges and median strips under control and looking presentable. Quarterly verge mowing is NOT enough. And the way the verges are SLASHED (NOT mowed) is pathetic. Large strips are left uncut, rubbish chopped up by blades and spat out and left to blow into peoples gardens and front yards. Edges are not done and the street sweeper collects only half the mess in the gutters. I suppose that’s what you get when you outsource the work and pay "peanuts" - you get a pathetic unprofessional result. If footpaths are too much to maintain then pave them like they have done on North East Road at Collinswood through to Holden Hill or Regency Road from Prospect through to Greenacres and beyond. Or just bitumise the verge & plant a tree instead !!!!

I love Adelaide and I hate how the suburbs EVERYWHERE in this city are being left to overgrow and fill up with rubbish. DON’T let us go the way of filthy Sydney or Melbourne. Adelaide people have more pride and deserve a better environment to live in. We are NOT a third world country, however in some suburbs you might think we are.

KESAB – where are you??? Bring back ‘Keep SA Beautiful’. Where is your media presence?? If you need funding – speak to the Government. They won’t come to you!! Most politicians live in their ivory towers with there private gardeners and street sweepers. Bring the street rubbish and the dumped verge trash to their attention!!

Someone suggested I should run in the upcoming Council elections. My answer - why should I? I pay council rates – exorbitant council rates. I pay taxes, fuel levies and all other costs associated with Council & DTEI maintenance. I want value for my money. I don’t want to have to do it myself. I pay for it to be done for me. And so do you!! But it’s not being done at an acceptable level by any of these Government Departments.

If you've ever wondered to yourself ‘What do the visitors to our city think when they see these eyesores?’ Be assured, they DO NOTICE and they DO FEEL DISGUSTED and they DO TAKE AWAY A BAD IMPRESSION of South Australia’s capital. It’s one of Adelaide being dirty, and having a low socio-economic status. The clean, pretty postcards you buy are mostly false advertising. We are being badly let down by local and state government departments and their ‘contracted workers and co-ordinators’, who are being paid from OUR land rates.

All Adelaide residents should feel embarrassed and should not sit back and live in this type of environment – YOU DON'T HAVE TO PUT UP WITH IT!!!!  I suggest sending emails rather than ringing, and it is far more effective. Not only can you send the emails to multiple people, you have a written record. Go to your Local Council website and find the email address then COMPLAIN AND COMPLAIN AGAIN until you are satisfied with the work.

Use the following website to find and contact your local council. If you're not sure of your council, enter your address and your council area will come up.

If you're renting, don't feel as though you can't complain to the Council. You have every right to complain about rubbish in your street, dead tree's, overgrown footpaths etc.

SA Water and The Essential Services Commission of South Australia "ESCOSA", high water prices and lower standards

I read with amazement the decision by ESCOSA, the Essential Services Commission of South Australia for SA Water to lower it's standards, AND STILL keep charging huge amounts for supply of water.

I can't fathom the reasoning of saying to SA Water, "Hey guys, lower your standards, keep charging huge amounts for water, and we'll stick it to the public".

What a load of bullshit!

It almost stinks of ESCOSA being in bed with these companies, and getting some sort of kick-back. I'm sure that's not happening, but where is the reasoning. I know there has to be a balance of determining a reasonable response time to faults and emergencies, but it has to be countered in the other direction as well.

I'm sick to death of services and commissions being on the side of big business. You can bet your bottom dollar, SA Water is top heavy with senior staff on huge salaries, working out of that nice new building in Victoria Square which would be costing a mint. Why not build a headquarters at Thebarton, Pooraka or Elizabeth, where land values are heaps less than the city. After all, Woolworths SA Head Office is at Pooraka way, as is Coles SA Headquarters. Why not SA Water? It's because it's a stuck up snobby thing for the company directors. It stinks of crap to me and I'm sure most South Australians are sick of being ripped off by these arsehole companies that literally hold the public to ransom, all for the sake of excess profit. We've all believed the bullshit spun to us by government before. "Privatising electricity will make the market become more competitive and prices will come down". Well, John Olsen (Who was the instigator of the ETSA sell-off), we've had nothing but huge increases in electricity ever since. Thanks John for being South Australia's worst Premier and getting us into this mess. I know, I know, we had to sell of ETSA to get us out of the State Bank bungle, but why couldn't the government put a $5 a week levy in place for six months or a year to get us out of the State Bank debacle? I would have been much happier paying a $5 a week levy for a year, and keeping ETSA the way it was and still should be.

But I digress. As the public who are being ripped off, I reckon we should start pushing our own people power around. Why not refuse to pay your SA Water bill? just imagine if 10,000 bill payers decided not to pay their bills? Woo Hoo, wouldn't that stick it up SA Water? It would literally be impossible for them to get out to ALL those non-payers and turn off the meters. even if they did, I'd just turn it back on again. Illegal, I know, but what the f**k, what are they going to do... take 10,000 people to court?

Meanwhile, take ages to pay your bill, and then when SA Water stick a late payment fee on your next bill, just underpay the bill, and don't pay the late fee. You are paying for your water, albeit, late, and they can't cut you off for not paying the late fee.

To ESCOSA, start sticking up for the public instead of being in bed with large money hungry corporations. To the government. Get the balls and stick it to these same corporations. You're here for the people, not for money hungry corporations. If we were talking about luxury items that people can do without, I couldn't care less about the profit made by the manufacturers, retailers, etc. But were are talking about basic necessities, and they government(s) see fir to allow blatant public ripoff.

Lets face it, ESCOSA is probably top heavy with senior staff on big salaries who have no real idea about the average person whilst they look down on the people out of their ivory towers!

Come on public. Time to stick it to the corporations. Lets starve SA Water of funds, and start making things tough for them. They can't take us all to court, and let's face it, if they did, I wouldn't be surprised to see magistrates throw the cases out.

Get the balls Jay Weatherill to make these companies accountable. It might just be your saviour at the next election.

It's not a criminal offence to stick up for your rights, and bill payers have rights as well. If I'm going to pay high water bills, I expect good quality drinking water and excellent service.

Simple.

The stuck up and snobby Burnside City Council and the sellers of The Big Issue.

The snobby and stuck up Burnside City Council has turned down an application by sellers of The Big Issue paper. The seller(s) want permission to sell their papers on the footpaths (council property) next to Burnside Village Shopping Centre.

Not surprisingly, the council turned down the application with Louise Miller-Frost (you must have a hyphenated surname to work at the council!) telling the Eastern Courier Messenger that the Local Government Act stipulated that roadways and footpaths were not to be used for a business without a permit.

Well give them a bloody permit you stuck up bunch of snobs!

In turning down the application, the council, no doubt was thinking of the health of their Burnside Village patrons. What patron sitting there sipping on their latte would want to see a person on the footpath trying to earn a living. Oh, the thought of it. They would probably need therapy after seeing that sort of thing in the Burnside Council area.

A vendor of The Big Issue will typically purchase a magazine for $3 and sell it for $6 and they will pocket the difference. Great to see someone getting off their bums and willing to try something to earn a living. It's just a pity the Burnside Council doesn't see it that way. Good Lord, we wouldn't want to see someone of that 'ilk' in the Burnside area.

I heard a rumour that the council were going to increase rates of homeowners who have friends that visit and the friend doesn't drive at least a Mercedes or Jaguar (over 2005 model). Of course, I just made that bit up, as I like having a go at councils that are stuck up and full of snobs. It reminds me of the time an Unley Council resident was told ""If you can't pay your rates in one hit, you can't afford to live in Unley". Maybe the two councils are good friends?

You can find out more about The Big Issue at     thebigissue.org.au

American National Rifle Association lobbyist Tony Makris sparks outrage by killing elephant on NBC show Under Wild Skies (Under DEAD Skies)

Is there no end to the violence that emanates out of the absolute gun struck United States?

Tony Makris, an outspoken lobbyist for the American National Rifle Association had to choose to kill an innocent and terrified elephant at point blank range to show what a big man he is, and apparently, what great sports the National Rifle Association are. And, even worse, the loss of wildlife just for the sake of a TV show. It is just disgusting. Maybe Tony Makris might change his mind about guns if he's shot at point blank range one day by some deranged person who bought a gun at a fete.

I can't fathom what makes these bastards want to kill and maim everything in sight. Maybe Makris suffers from 'little penis syndrome' and has to have a big weapon around to make him feel more like a man.

I, along with many many millions of people on this planet are sick to death of the crap that comes out of this so called 'civilised' America. The yanks have grown up with guns and just love them .. to death. Get some balls Obama, and do something about this bullshit once and for all. The right to bear arms should be struck from your constitution at the earliest opportunity.

In the middle of gun happy America, there is virtually no control at all as to who can buy and own guns. You have people with mental conditions and problems, that should be nowhere near a rifle or bullets. But they can literally buy them from the corner store. It just makes you sick .. to death.

And now, to make it even more interesting, there are mass killers and potential mass killers, who seem to want to outdo each other as to how many people they can kill in one spree. Yay .. bring on more high power rifles so more kids, teachers and cinema goers will die in the near future. The American Dream - if you live long enough to live in it.

If you're a sane and reasonable person like me, you'll boycott America and any American products (as much as possible anyway). I will not knowingly give those murdering bastards any of my money. The National Rifle Association has so much clout and power in America, it is unbelievable. Why? Because, you can bet that half the politicians are members of the NRA.

Yep, give every kid a gun so they can become killers too.

Three teens accused of murder of baseball player Chris Lane identified - Chancey Luna, James Edwards and Michael Jones

America doesn't pussy foot around like Australia does when it comes to identifying young (underage and accused/convicted) criminals.

I like this.

I'm sick of young Aussie scumbags, who, just because they're under 18, are protected from being identified in the media.

The picture of the accused murderers of Chris Lane:

The only thing I'm not so hot on is identifying them whilst they are still accused, and there has been no formal trial and conviction. If for some reason, one or all of these blokes are found not guilty, it isn't fair to have their pictures and identities splashed around. There will always be a section of society that will think that one or all are guilty even if they're found innocent.

If they're found guilty, sure, I have no problem with media publication of their faces and names. In addition, I would still apply for the death sentence even though they are under 18 and it can't be applied. The world doesn't need these accused arseholes on the street that kill for no other reason than for 'fun'. Put them in front of a firing squad and shoot them so they know what it's like to be killed by gunfire.

Still, we are now paying for slack parenting, and kids having too many rights, and not being given proper boundaries, so they grow up with no respect for anyone.

I'm would even be happy to have a 'vandals' page in the Advertiser whereby local graffiti vandals both under and over 18 have their names and photo's published. Shame can be a very powerful deterrent at times. I know there'll always be a bunch of these dickheads that think that having their pictures published in one of these pages is a trophy to how clever they are, but I think the shame factor is much greater. In addition, it might also make the parents of these vandals wake up and start laying proper rules for their kids.

I still think the best way of stopping graffiti vandals is the surgical removal of a finger every time they are convicted. I'm sure after one or two fingers are gone, they'll soon stop their anti-social and bogan ways.

Back to identifying underage convicted crims. Just do it. Stop pussyfooting around. Sure, it's bound to affect them in 5, 10 or 20 years when they get out of jail, but tough luck. They should have thought about that a bit earlier.

Look at it this way. An 18 year old is convicted in a court and receives 15 years in jail and has his or her picture and name splashed all over the media. It's a case of tough luck - you did the crime, so you suffer the consequences of media scrutiny and the associated problems upon release. But, if that same person commits the same crime one month before they are 18, nothing can be reported that identifies them. Stupid isn't it?

I know all the do-gooders will get out there and say "They're underage", "Silly" and "Just don't know what they're doing". That's crap. Kids these days are growing up with little respect for adults, little respect for the law, and little respect for teachers. This I'm sure is due to slack parenting and the lack of providing proper boundaries for kids whilst they are growing up.

We also need to reduce the age at which a person can be tried as an adult to 16, from the current 18 years old. Hit them harder when they are younger and make them shit scared of getting into criminal trouble later in life.

Sexting MP Peter Dowling sent explicit images to secret mistress - Mistress outs him saying she wants everyone to be accountable, but she's not making herself accountable by staying secret

STATE MP, Peter Downling, has been exposed as a serial sexter, sending images to his secret mistress including a picture of his penis plonked in a glass of red wine.
He is also accused of taking advantage of parliamentary travel trips to meet his mistress in locations including Perth and New Zealand. The allegations are made in a letter from Mr Dowling's former lover to Speaker Fiona Simpson.
The Courier-Mail has seen several explicit text messages sent from Mr Dowling's mobile phone to the woman, including a picture of his penis in a glass of red wine, a self-shot image of his crotch while wearing boxer shorts and a full frontal picture of his genitalia.
``He wanted a Red Wine ...,'' Mr Dowling said in the text message sent with the image of his penis in the glass. Another image shows a grinning Mr Dowling holding the wine glass in a cheers salute.
The mistress, who asked not to be identified, told The Courier-Mail that Mr Dowling "conned" her into believing the pair would unite properly after the 2015 election.
"He met my mum,'' she said. "And he told her that he was in love with me and sorry about the situation but it will change,'' she said.
"I used to visit the electorate office at night when all the office girls would leave and we would have sexual intercourse or on weekends it would be during the day.''
She said the pair took different flights to the UK in January as Mr Dowling travelled with his mother to Ireland. They were all upgraded to business class apart from her trip over.
The woman said the affair ended in recent weeks after the pair received anonymous letters and Mr Dowling was warned by senior party figures and a Federal MP.
"I know it can be construed that I am being vindictive in what I am doing,'' she said. "But I am just a country girl and I think everyone should be accountable"
The paragraph above in blue is what pisses me off greatly. "Everyone should be held accountable". Well Miss Lady In Hiding .. you are just as responsible for the events that have happened, but have asked not to be identified. Talk about the pot calling the kettle black. You're nothing but a foul vindictive person who refuses to be held accountable. AND, you hide behind your secret cover with the knives out. Disgusting. I hope you get what you deserve and are outed by Peter Dowling. If he's been outed by someone, then that someone deserves to be outed as well. You pretend to not be vindictive, but friends and others will see through that thin veil. He has a 'right of reply'' as such and I hope he uses it to out you and smear your name all over the media, just as you have done to him. What a bitch.
Asked about his behaviour, Mr Dowling said: ``I have complied fully with all parliamentary requirements for disclosure.''

South Australian woman accused of unlawful sex with ex-husband - The tables are turned but will it be enough?

A WOMAN accused of unlawfully performing oral sex on her ex-husband, has no case to answer, the Adelaide Magistrates Court has heard.

The woman, 49, is charged with engaging in sexual intercourse without consent in August 2011 at an address on the Eyre Peninsula.

The complainant said he was awoken by his ex-wife performing fellatio on him.

She appeared in the court on Friday when her lawyer said she had no case to answer, noting it involved the woman’s word against the complainant's. The case was adjourned until September 6.

It's amazing isn't it? I find it really intriguing when the tables are turned in these sorts of cases. Usually, it's the blokes who are accused of rape and sexual abuse etc etc, and the woman is totally believed.. even if she is lying.

I find it interesting that the lawyer says "It's the woman's word against the complainants. Duh ... well of course, it is. The lawyer makes it sound as is this is something incredible. What bullshit, it's usually the guys who have to face some woman who's lying her head off because she's now in too deep and has to continue her lie.

If the court finds there's no case to answer then you'll here more about it on here. I'm sick of blokes taking the rap for woman who have no conscience and have sex ... then regret it later and take legal action to save face. Tough luck.

If the woman is performing fellatio on him and he's asleep, in my books that could be cause for sexual assault (as there is no permission), just as as if a guy starts doing the same to a woman when she's asleep (Again, there is no permission). The dynamics are of course in the relationship. In a healthy loving relationship, this could be considered exciting ( to wake up in pleasure ), but in an unhealthy relationship, this could be used as fodder to instigate sexual assault cases. Food for thought.

Callington Murder Trial - Pirjo Kemppainen - This "B" Character is a real psychopathic mental case

From what I've read in the papers, they'd better never let this bogan psychopath out of prison. He's going to end up being one of those people they let out and a day later he's killed again.

The fact he has bragged incessantly about his criminal act to prison staff and has no qualms at all about saying that he would pretty much do it again, to me, means he is a true clinical psychopath.

They'd better not let him out after 15 years because if they do, he'll be back in the headlines after another murder.

I don't for one minute believe he is a changed person after committing his crime. In my opinion, he will manipulate people and say what they want to hear, but he's not that clever enough to hide his true 'evil' persona from coming out.

There's always the possibility that it's occurred to him that he has been sentenced to his 15 years in jail, so it doesn't really matter if he lets his true 'evil' character come out. It's not like he has to try and impress a jury or a judge with a story about how he's changed since his terrible act.

New Changes to AdelaideNow - The Sunday Mail - The Advertiser ... time has finally come to be ripped off

As many avid readers of AdelaideNow would now have discovered, the 'so called' new era of news being bought to Adelaide is simply a load of crap to make us pay for crappy news stories, and shit loads of bloody advertising.

I could put up with the advertising, and the endless boring stories that sit on the pages for one or two weeks, but I will NOT pay to use this sub-standard news service.

Don't get me wrong, I don't mind paying when you get value for money, but I don't think AdelaideNow rates as a number one news service. Apart from the odd main stories - complete with woeful spelling errors and incorrect grammar - AdelaideNow had progressed into a mish mosh of New Idea / Woman's Weekly with a bit of news thrown in. In some sections, stories stayed there for one or two weeks.

Well, there is a light at the end of the tunnel.

The 891 ABC on-line Website supplies an excellent news service with heaps of local content WITHOUT all the crap advertising and cheap tabloid bullshit about what Kym Kardashian said to her hairdresser last Thursday.

The website is:

Give it a go, I think you'll like it.

Update  16/08/2015

AdeladeNow / News Corp have introduced a relatively new "Premium Story" option... for the want of a word. You will find that stories with a small coloured icon (usually on the bottom right hand side) can't be accessed with standard 'membership'. You have to be a paid member to view these stories. The icon looks like this example.

I've found the use of this icon varies day to day. Between Monday to Friday, it tends to be used on popular national news stories, but it really hits hard on Saturdays and Sundays, when there are obviously, more readers. In fact, I counted today's "icons"; so for Sunday 16th August 2015, there are 35 icons. You can't view these premium stories unless you've paid the associated cost to become a premium member. Another strangle hold on News Corp customers. What will we have in a years time? A double premium icon where you have to have a double premium membership fee to see some stories? I think I got the icon count right, because as I've mentioned before, stories (or links to the story) appear more than once on the "home page". You'll have a headline near the top of the page, then further down, will be a "most viewed stories" area, and likely on the right hand side, will appear some minor headline taking you to the same story. I sort of understand the idea of doing this, but in the end, it's a filler to take up space and make the physical news service page "bigger" than what it actually is. To make it look like you're getting better value for money, if you're a paying subscriber.

And can we please get rid of the crap "gossipy" sections of supposed "news". I don't care about Kim Kardashian and her hairdresser, or whether Sean Penn has broken up with so and so. If I wanted gossipy stuff, I'd go visit my parents and borrow my Mum's Woman's Weekly. I want news! And if good quality news was served up and didn't appear multiple times on one page, I might actually consider paying for it, but until then, I'll find ways of getting my news without any cost.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

PS: I've found something new as well. If like me, you refuse to pay to receive news, go to the top right hand corner of the old Advertiser/Sunday Mail site, and you'll see NETWORK, click on this and it'll show you all the papers that come under the brand. You can actually click into say THE TELEGRAPH, and read news stories and it's not affected if you've read your limit of 5 news stories, so I read all the local stuff in my limit of 5 stories, then switch to The Telegraph to get Australia wide stuff, then maybe go to the Herald Sun for international stories. It's a few extra clicks, but hey, it beats the system. I use the Google Chrome Browser (and it probably works with Firefox as well), but if you highlight the headline of the story and right click, one of the options in Google Chrome is to search for that story (in a new tab). Usually within the first few results, you find the story on an alternative site. OK, it's a little more mucking around, but many times the new sites don't have all the full page 'splash' advertising that is now the norm with The Advertiser site. It may seem like a lot of mucking around but I find it so easy. I have my brekky and coffee and get to read all the news before going to work and in reality, the extra clicks and stuff add a minute to my searching. And like I said previously, I have no qualms paying for a decent news service, but AdelaideNow / Advertiser is not that. If you filter out all the 'filler' stuff thrown in to make it like like it's an exciting website, there's really not a lot of news in there. I know Adelaide's a small town .. err.. sorry.. city, but surely they can muster up more than they serve.

Also, another tip. In Google Chrome and Firefox, highlight (or select, it's the same thing), the story headline, right click to pop up a list of options, and you'll find Search for .... (whatever you selected/highlighted), and a new window or tab will open up with news stories from other tabloids that have that headline. In fact, I do this most of the time now. It's so easy, and I get all my news with very little effort.

I've tried the NineMSN and Yahoo7 sites, and they're OK, but they're filled with junk stuff .. well, junk to me anyway. If you want to follow the Royal Baby and other stuff relegated to weekly magazines, then they might be good for you, but I'm plain and boring. LOL, I like my news and want it plain and simple.

10 Year Old Declan Sables, charged with assaulting teacher and has DNA sample taken by South Australian Police.

POLICE have the DNA samples of more than 4500 children under the age of 18 in the state's criminal database.
The figures have emerged after Declan Sables, a 10-year-old autistic boy from Orroroo, was asked to provide a DNA sample to police after he assaulted a teacher at his school.
The request was made after Declan was charged with aggravated assault for throwing a bag of 20c pieces at his principal. Thank god he didn't point a pencil at the teacher, he would have been charged with attempted murder WITH a deadly weapon.
Declan's stepfather Gary Rubben said an autistic boy having to provide his DNA to police was "despicable". YES, the person who authorised this should be sacked.
"He's a 10-year-old child with a disability - for him to be treated like this is absolutely despicable," he told Channel Nine.
"It's still a traumatic thing for a ten year old."
Police informed the family that a sample of the boy's DNA would no longer be required. Duh, well, why did you take it in the first place?
Because maybe SAPOL want to build Australia's biggest and best DNA database, and they don't give a stuff or care how they get that database together. Stuff being innocent, that doesn't matter!
Any person suspected of committing a serious offence can be asked to provide a DNA sample to police.
It's interesting that South Australian Police (SAPOL) seem always to hide what is regarded as a "serious offence" from the public. This gives them huge leeway when it comes to collecting DNA from every soul possible. It's more like a "We'll get your DNA now, so if you commit an offence when your 30 and you leave DNA, we've already got you marked".
To me, a serious offence is rape, murder, robbery or assault with a deadly weapon etc. It's not a 10 year old with a bag of 20 cent pieces. It just goes to show if you don't stick up for your rights, the police will try and walk all over you. They'll take what they can when they can, in fact, it's almost criminal.
I put it to any member of the police force to write a comment on this blog and state for the record just exactly what constitutes a 'serious offence'. And no bullshit, just put it plain laymans terms.
Samples can be taken from a person when they reach the age of offending relevant to the criminal law, which is 10 years old.
Police said very few DNA samples were taken from children aged 10 to 12 years of age and an application could be made by the child or their guardian for the destruction of the DNA.
I would seriously suggest to anybody charged with a minor offence and asked (= demanded) to give a DNA sample, to fight for their right as to what is considered a serious offence, and demand the sample be destroyed.
It's about civil liberties and having respect for people in society. Not treating them all as though they are guilty, "so prove your innocent", type attitude.

Are South Australian drivers the worst (and dumbest) in Australia? In my opinion - YES

I have driven in every capital city in Australia - with the exception of Darwin, and in my opinion, South Australia, and it's capital, Adelaide, have the worst and most irresponsible drivers in Australia.

In addition to this, South Australians have the dubious honour of having the oldest and run down fleet of cars in Australia.

As most drivers, I pretty much follow the same major route to and from work every day. And the idiots I see are just incomprehensible. I can't see how these fools get their licenses in the first place. Maybe driving instructors are just plain slack as well .. who knows.

Some things make me laugh initially, but when that car suddenly pulls behind me, I get uncomfortable knowing there is an idiot behind the wheel. Take the following examples of stupid and irresponsible driving I've seen simply driving to and from work:

  • A driver eating a crumpet, WITH an open coffee cup on the dash.
  • The classic running late for work and drivers weaving in and out recklessly through traffic.
  • Men shaving with cordless shavers.
  • Women applying makeup whilst stopped at lights, AND whilst driving.
  • And - what is fast becoming a classic - looking down into your lap whilst at stop lights. Also known as, sending or receiving text messages.
  • Drivers reading magazines (or the paper) whilst at lights and whilst driving.
  • Drivers in peak hour traffic totally unaware of their surroundings and just pulling into different lanes without using indicators. These sort are downright dangerous. Well, lets face it, they all are.
And, there is absolutely no common trait of an idiot driver. They can be young, old, male, female, Asian, African, Aussie. There is no one trait. You'd think older drivers - having more experience - would be more aware of road rules, and would be more 'old school', but no, they are just as bad as the young.

Since it's winter now and usually coming into dusk when I leave work, I get to my car, start it, and the first thing I do is put on seat belt then headlights. But there seems to be this whole other range of people that get to there cars, start engine and just drive off with absolutely no thought to the fact that it's starting to get dark and probably by the time they get home, it'll be pitch black. Then there's those drivers who think "Oh, it's just starting to come into dusk, I'll just put my parking lights on only - not my headlights - just parkers, and then when it gets darker, I'll go onto full headlights". Of course, we know what happens then, they forget they only have parkers on because the dash lights are on, and they end up driving in the dark with only parkers. These people are dickheads and as thick as bricks. Why would you get into your car and make a conscious decision to only put on your parkers when you know (or should know) that you'll probably need full headlights within 10 minutes or so anyway? Why not switch on your full headlights right from the start? Duh!

At the end of the day, we have to face the fact that we have a lot of stupid people on our roads that plainly shouldn't be driving. It's like they get into their cars and they put a set of blinkers on - you know, the ones they put on horses to stop them seeing what's happening around them. To make them look straight ahead and not side to side. Well, we have a heap of humans that do exactly the same every time they get into a car. It's like they suddenly lose all ability to think rationally.

Every time I hop into my car and set off, I see examples of bad driving. A prime example of people not being aware of their surroundings is when they turn from a 60kmh main road into a smaller 60kmh road, but because they are not looking AROUND them, they fail to see the 60kmh sign and they automatically slow to 50kmh. OK, if you're on the road by yourself at midnight, this is no big deal - it shows you're an idiot - but it's no big deal. But if it's peak hour traffic and drivers are tired and grumpy from work, the last thing they want to put up with is dickheads doing the wrong thing. OK, I hear you say, the speed limits are maximum limits, not minimum limits, so if people want to drive at 50kmh on a 60kmh road, let them. Well, that's fine if it's midnight because you're not affecting other drivers, but in peak hour traffic, in my opinion, you have a responsibility to do the right thing by those around you.

Then there are those drivers who when they pull up at a set of traffic lights, think it's time to fiddle around in the glove compartment, or the back seat, or looking for something in a wallet or purse, send text messages blah blah. NO IT'S NOT TIME FOR THAT - JUST DRIVE. When the lights go green, you'll be ready to take off efficiently and quickly so you don't hold up traffic behind you.

THINK when you get into your car!! "Do I need something from my back seat"? "Do I need something from my purse or wallet"? Get everything ready, then drive off. It takes no time at all, and saves you giving the shits to other drivers. Get up 10 minutes earlier so you don't have to put your make-up on in the car! Get up 10  minutes earlier so you don't have to eat toast and have open cups of coffee in your car. Ditto with shaving.

Just imagine if you will, how much easier traffic would flow if everyone did the right thing. We all know those traffic lights that have a big line-up, go green for 7 seconds, then amber, red again and it takes you 5 or more  repetitions of the lights to get through. Then you get those dickheads that are mucking around in their cars, looking all airy fairy into mirrors and stuff, then realise the lights have gone green and the car in front of them is now 50 metres away, they start to drive forward, and usually just make it over before the lights change back to red again, leaving the people behind them so pissed off because if that driver had been paying attention and driving responsibly, another 3 or 4 cars may have made it across the intersection. This pisses me off so much because of another persons inattention, myself and other drivers have to suffer. If drivers paid proper attention and did their bit, the drive to and from work could be a lot more pleasant.

I really can see how some people become so frustrated at dealing with dickhead drivers, they blow their stack and vent it in road rage. It doesn't give it validity, but I can see why it happens. Add to that, badly designed roads still planned as if we are still in the 60's, and badly programmed traffic lights, peak hour driving is still a real hassle.

I think it must be the attitude festering in Adelaide that road planners just don't seem to be able to plan for the future. They (finally) modify a road, that should have been done 15 years ago, and now traffic can flow a little easier, but they don't seem to look at what it will be in the next 20 or so years. It fixes a problem for now, but will only re-occur again in 15 years. Just do it properly in the first place. Prime example: Southern Expressway.

If you're a driver and reading this. Start thinking how you can be more responsible on the road. Are you one of these people who is forever running late for work - usually because you spend to much time pressing the snooze button - then start acting responsibly. If we can get as many people as possible doing the right thing and driving efficiently and confidently, getting around in peak hour traffic may become a breeze - not to mention it'll probably affect the accident rate, in a good way.

And finally, to all those that think I spend too much time looking at what others do on the roads. well, you're right in a way, but all of the things I see can (possibly) affect me in some way or another. I don't want some dickhead driving behind me who's sending text messages or fossicking in their glove compartment. They might run into me. And yes, I want drivers to be more responsible and think of others on the road because that'll make my trip - and your trip - home, faster and a lot more comfortable. They trouble is too many people are stuck in their own little blinkered worlds, and have no idea what's going on around them as soon as they sit behind a wheel.

ps: Don't even get me started on the wrecks of vehicles driving on our roads. People seem to have no idea that they have a blown headlight, blown parkers, no brake lights. To make a point, this very night (Thursday 6/6/2013), I visited a mate after work. On the 20 minute drive home in the dark, I saw 3 cars with only one headlight, one four wheel drive who thought it'd be fun to drive with full high beam on AND with Xenon headlights (AND behind me). And a speeding P plater doing about 75 in a 60kmh zone. And that's in a space of 20 minutes. What are our police doing? Why aren't they out at night catching these dills and warning them to get headlights fixed etc?

Magistrate Bob Harrap and his bad decision regarding Aaron James Buttfield, Daniel Graham James Pool and Yiorgo Fotis Zabanias

I can't believe my eyes when I read the way this court case unfolded. And pretty much how these three bogans got off with no penalty at all. It makes a mockery of our criminal justice system and leaves the victims as though no punishment has been administered.

As it reads, pretty much if you're a bit dumb and childish (or allude to being this), go in front of Magistrate Bob Harrap, and he'll let you off scott free!

I talk about the case of these three blokes being prosecuted for firebombing a Lockleys couples home because the couple reported the trio of bogans to the police for unruly riding of a dirt bike (presumably motorised) in Linear Park and doing burnouts in the street. In retaliation, the trio put together a firebomb and Zabanias set it off on the couples doorstep.

In punishment, Magistrate Bob Harrap had the wool pulled over his eyes and let them off scott free. How disgusting!. We pay magistrates and judges good money - for what ? Crap decisions. I damn well hope the prosecution appeals this decision. Not even a fine or being forced to pay for repairs - at least in what was reported.

I find it hard to comprehend that Magistrate Bob Harrap could believe the young men had various elements of autism and couldn't fully appreciate the gravity of the acts they committed, yet they had enough intelligence to put together a firebomb and be in a car doing burnouts in the street. Again (presumably), one of those men have a car license, so couldn't have been too dumb to get that!

Here is a grab from a news report:

In sentencing, Magistrate Bob Harrap said the incident was terrifying with serious ongoing consequences for the victims. (Read: "however, stuff the victims").

However, that had to be balanced with the trio's lack of prior offending and the damage convictions would do to their lives and employment. (Who gives a stuff, they need to be punished).

People who do lesser crimes get thrown into jail without any consideration as to what a criminal conviction and jail time will do for their futures and employment, but these three get off with NOTHING, exept a bit of bad publicity. Tough luck. You do the crime, you pay the price. Pity Harrap didn't think of this during sentencing.

It's this sort of crazy balances and legal decisions that really get my goat up and pisses me off. Here is another example of where the law has looked more after the criminal perpetrators than the victims. Thanks Bob Harrap - for nothing!

I tell you what, in the unlikely chance I ever got charged with something. I want the lawyer(s) who represented these bogans and want to go in front of Magistrate Bob Harrap. Yippee... free ... and stuff the victims ... who cares about them anyway ... Not Bob Harrap.

Tonya Lee ... another 'so called' victim of Rolf Harris .. Give me some money and I'll give ya a really great story!

I am sick to death of reading about people who suddenly come out of the woodwork when they think that a buck can be made from a story that's currently in the public eye.

I speak about Tonya Lee who just happens to have come out - at the right time - and SELL her story to Woman's Day and A Current Affair. Not only that, good 'ol Tonya even engaged a publicity manager to make the most of it.

It's quite possible that this woman - Tonya Lee - met Rolf Harris back in 1986 as she claims, but of course instead of going to police after her alleged assault, she apparently decided to stay silent, but come back to Australia a changed person.

Well, I ask Tonya Lee.. where is your proof that the alleged assault occurred? It was never reported, never spoken about .. and now years later and after a wad of cash is thrown at you, you decide to tell your story. I fail to see any genuineness in it.

My personal belief (and many others too) is that Tonya Lee is motivated by greed and the possibility of receiving some victims of crime payout should the case proceed, and,  in the unlikely event that some form of guilt is found. I would have thought a 'victims' real concern would not be the money at all. I ask the question, why would you go to a victims of crime group first BEFORE even seeing the police and laying a complaint. It's arse about. And in addition, when did Tonya Lee go to the V.O.C. group? Was it 10 years ago? 15 years ago? or did Lee just go to V.O.C when allegations against Rolf Harris became public?

What makes Lee appear to be not genuine is that she decided to SELL her story. You could have quite willingly said "No, I want no money, I just want the truth to be known". Or you could have laid a complaint with police and simply said nothing to any media outlets.

Tonya if you are indeed telling the truth, I think it was a very wrong move to engage an agent and sell your story. That, in addition to going to V.O.C. first makes it look like you're in it for the money, and if that's the case, it makes your own personal case look very feeble and contrived.

In relation to your various obsessive behaviours and eating disorders, how can you totally attribute that to the alleged assault? The disorders and obsessive behaviour may have happened anyway in your life, irrespective of what allegedly happened in your youth.

According to news stories I've read, AND, not wanting to make light of the claims, pretty much you were allegedly touched up a bit by Rolf Harris inappropriately - a bit of a groping in effect. Whilst I'm sure this would be upsetting to a child, it's not the end of the world. Liken the analogy to a dirty old family friend that hugs you a bit longer than they should. Sure it's innapropriate,  you can't blame this alleged event as being the catalyst of everything wrong in your life.

Sometimes people like to be the victim or remain a victim. Why ? Because it gives them an excuse to fall back on when things don't work out in their lives. "I never made it to University because Uncle Freddy pressed up a bit too close one Christmas".

If you are indeed telling the truth Tonya Lee .. I commend you for coming forward. It's only a pity that you didn't come forward when the event happened as now your story holds a lot less weight. It obviously didn't weigh upon you too much over the years else you would have taken action much earlier.

And to all the women who'll take offence to this blog, yes, I know I'm looking at matters very black and white with no shades of grey, but that's exactly what a court will do. Courts don't make decisions based upon a person crying in a witness box, they make decisions based on cold hard fact. A defence lawyer will immediately spring forth with "Why did you go to a Victim Of Crimes group first instead of the police? Were you seeing how much money you could make with a story".

Courts have to consider both sides of a story, especially when so long a time has passed since the alleged event. They even have to consider whether the plaintiff is making up the story to make some money. Yes, they do that!!

Most Adelaide people will remember the young 15 or so year old lad who said he was sexually assaulted in the Eastern suburbs back around a year ago by 3 men in a white van. He went on in a lot of detail during his police conversations, to the extent of mentioning there were pipes on the roof of the van. That youth has now been charged with making a false story to police. Yes, it was all bullshit. Now if a 15 year old can do it, why not someone older?

This is why courts and police don't immediately give creedence to this type of complaint until all the facts have been looked at and it's properly assessed because, like the 15 year old boy, there are things happening behind the scenes that sometimes we don't always understand until the whole matter is considered in context.

Update  30/6/2014

No surprise really... Rolf Harris found guilty of 12 sex offences.

Tonya Lee still giving her interviews and laughing at Rolf Harris for the guilty verdict. Well Tonya, you're still the same character I think you are (and a lot of other people think you are), and you may have helped bring Rolf Harris down, but people will see through your character. I'm not saying that Rolf Harris is innocent, but I'm sure there has been a lot of twisting of the truth by 'victims' to dig the knife in. The Rolf Harris case was never going to be a fair trial. In most cases, the victims are simply believed because of the old thought "Why would she/he make up such an allegation"? Here's a case of a 13 year old girl reporting an abduction and sexual assault, and only after proper questioning by police, she agreed that she was lying.

Update 2/7/2014

Another Australian woman, Nina Becker has got on the bandwagon saying she was abused by Rolf Harris in the 1970's. And of course, it's straight to Seven News to sell her story. Well Nina, you're in the same league as Tonya Lee. What about going to the police and not worrying about selling your story to the news first? Some of these opportunist people really make me sick. You've had years to come good and make your complaint, and only do it now after you "find the strength". You make a claim of historical abuse and it would be impossible for just about anyone to refute it. I say PROVE IT. Where is your PROOF? Oh, it happened 40 years ago? Well tough luck, you should have come out of the woodwork then and made your complaint!
